Last June 20, I joined a contest in Twitter. It was a spur of the moment thing and I did it because I believed that something good might happen to me after a very unlucky day. You see, my husband and I lost a very important package that day, and we were very sad. Late that night, I saw that Tim Yap was giving away a Dell Inspiron Laptop.

I joined for the heck of it, not expecting to win. I posted my picture and hashtagged YAP4GRABS. Apparently, many followers of Tim Yap submitted their pictures too, so that meant that I had a lot of competition.

The next day, I received a notification in my email that Tim Yap "favorited" one of my tweets. I checked Tim Yap's twitter page and tried to see which other entries did he like.

Alexis Mendoza's and Geci dela Cruz's entries were also the ones he tagged as his favorites. I checked out their entries and I knew that we were potential winners. They did a good job with their pictures also. Honestly, I felt insecure with their entries because they also exerted extra effort in making their photo collage.

On the same day, Tim had additional instructions for his Dell Inspiron Contest, so all of us had to resend our entries and tag @officialdellph and hashtag Official Dell Philippines.

Tim Yap initially said that he would announce the winner on June 28, and so I waited. I kept on checking Tim's page to see who else did he tag as his favorite, but time passed, and still there were just the three of us. I told my dad about this, and he said that I had a 33.33% chance of winning. Tim didn't announce the winner on the day he said he would. At first I was disappointed but I know that patience is a virtue. I waited. Alexis waited. Geci waited. We all waited for the announcement until today . . .

My husband thought that I was joking. So he turned on the computer and checked my Twitter account for verification. And then he believed! Oh it's such a wonderful day. I have never won something as expensive as this in my entire life. This is a day that I won't forget. Thanks to Twitter, Tim Yap and Dell Philippines. Truly, this is a dear diary moment for me.
